$555 towards $500

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) has made a big difference in my life, and the lives of many others!

Your donation will go towards providing Corpsmembers with meaningful work, trainings and confidence to achieve their dreams.

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is an Americorps affiliated non profit that works primarily with environmental conservation and community service in New Mexico. RMYC hires people ages 17-25 to carry out meaningful projects such as fire mitigation, trail building, historic preservation, environmental education and more. All Corpsmembers also receive multiple trainings such as CPR First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Financial Literacy and Resume building.

Last season I was part of a conservation crew (see photo above) working on fire mitigation outside of Taos. When I started, I never expected to learn so much and feel part of such a wonderful organization and community. Now, I work on development in the RMYC office, continuing service as an Americorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). I've seen how RMYC really does "Make a Difference" in this community and its inspiring. Many corps members come in unconfident and scared about the future and leave feeling empowered and loved.

COVID19 has presented non profits with extreme challenges, yet many are finding ways to keep serving their communities, RMYC included. RMYC has made sure to keep all full time staff hired, and as many Crew Members as possible in order to carry out our conservation and community service projects. These are uncertain times, and if you are willing and able, just a small donation - anything from $5+ will go a long way! Check out the video to learn more about RMYC. Thank you!!
